So I have promptly abandoned my attempts at “typing good” since thesis got heavy and GRE prep started messing with me. I think my initial plan just fell apart because my rules were too strict.. and the thought of having to “craft” something for each post was a bit too much effort to maintain. Regardless. I am back now and this post is a commitment to write more regularly. Specifically I will be making one post per day for the next two months, until 26/12. Mostly to improve my typing dexterity but also to practice collecting. I realise I like to save content but I have a bad system of keeping track of them. And sometimes when I find them again its like I am seeing the information for the first time. I like to think that if I just organised them better I would get better at retaining the information as well. And that this would actually encourage to seek out material more proactively.
My old flatmate used to store her prints (intaglio etc) on the wall. Not Display – there is a key difference. She was definitely a function > form kind of person. The prints were just pasted on the wall, it didn’t matter much the spacing between them or if the prints complimented each other. “Storing” them on the wall was more so to keep the prints separate (ink is sensitive), and in the absence of owning a folder to that would both separate And store, this was the next best thing. I am going to approach this process of collection in a similar way; I can get too distracted by the pressure to make something aesthetically pleasing that it magnifies the task and it becomes unmanageable. So for the first of the two months I think I just want to get into the habit of collecting and posting what I find, and when the habit is made then I’ll consider the curation more seriously.
That said, here are some screenshots of GRE prep material that I thought was worth retaining:

Here’s to making more new mistakes and less of the same!
