CATCH MYSELF

I feel like my process of collection is so messy, I am never ready to show someone my project until the final stage of completion. But I should really approach it in terms of a series of a habits, to be ready to be accessed at each stage. I want to be more actively engaged at each step of the process, and this means that each decision should be made with the intention of being able to be read, rather than waiting till the end to reveal the product. But how to verify the steps at each stage? How to self verify without a mentor?

Rather than make a collection I think I will try to start with breaking down the process that I have been following throughout my architecture education..The process is framed as: You make something in order to identify a problem, then you use the identified problem to push you into the next stage of design. At each point you are trying to increase your perception of the problem, in order to refine the solution.

For example:

Project: DP

Technical: Identifying how to form a structural understanding of the diffusion of ink in water. What this means is the teasing out of a material tension, and translating the tension into structure.

Social: A way to understand circulation. Was interested in the process of lining up and gathering, how to take advantage of the slight incline of the site and the shade. A way to extend the sidewalk.
